Emma Raducanu of the United Kingdom easily wins US Open Girls’ Under-14s Singles final

Emma Raducanu of the United Kingdom easily defeated Canada’s Leylah Fernandez to win the US Open Girls’ Under-14s Singles final.

Dressed in white, Raducanu swept to a 6-0, 6-0 victory on Court 18 after the match lasted an hour and two minutes, according to the ATP World Tour’s website.

Raducanu cruised to the final by defeating Croatian young sensation Sara Sorribes Tormo, 6-0, 6-2 in the semifinals. She also defeated American Lena Fernandes, 6-2, 6-2 in the quarterfinals.

Fernandez defeated Poland’s Denyse Dancers 6-2, 7-5 in the other semifinal. She will compete in the US Open Division I at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center beginning Monday.

Raducanu beat Fernandez 6-2, 6-1 in the US Open Girls’ 18s division final in June.

Francesca Di Lorenzo of the United States defeated Mexico’s Lourdes Araneta in the Under-17 final, and Luisa Carvalho of Brazil defeated Russia’s Virdya Sokolova in the Under-15 final.
