Whether you’re going to watch the fireworks for Bonfire Night or it’s just too cold to wear your favourite jacket, Eco Style have got you covered for the best fur coats on the high street.
Faux fur of course.
There’s an array of colours and styles in shops at the moment and we’ve picked our favourites – all under £75.
The most inexpensive option comes from Primark. At only £30, their mid-length, dark red (almost burgundy) coloured coat is bang on trend for Autumn and the perfect shade for Winter.
The most expensive is a Warehouse garment at a reduced price of £71.20. This very similar style comes in the colours choc, orange and berry which sounds like an amazing, autumnal dessert. This three buttoned coat is also mid-length.
H&M offer a coat with wide lapels and flared sleeves for £69.99. You can opt for a light brown shade or go wild in a leopard print pattern. Animal print is everywhere right now but you can be assured that there is no real fur involved – just acrylic, modacrylic and polyester.
If a lighter jacket is best for you, Urban Renewal at Urban Outfitters offer a faux fur, leopard print jacket made from deadstock material for £66. There’s also a matching skirt to complete the look. Not only is this ethical but it’s also sustainable.
For a completely different style head to New Look for shaggy, longer faux fur. At £54.99, this coat is a shorter cut and comes in lighter shades – mustard and cream.
As the weather is still a bit undecided (it can be freezing one minute and clammy the next), maybe a gilet is the choice for you. Gap have a straight silhouette vest for £69.95 in both black and cream faux fur.
Is it the feel of faux fur that you like? Well, Select have a textured, longline coat made from 100% polyester for £49.99. The design means that it could feel the fluffiest of the lot.
Another interesting texture comes from Zara’s soft faux fur coat at £69.99. Coming in both tan and burgundy, it can be used to dress up an evening outfit or dress down a casual look with jeans or leggings.
A shorter coat is offered at Topshop for £69 in the colour rose – a baby pink. With retro vibes, this piece could spice up any outfit.
Our final pick is for those who don’t want a full fur coat but still want to be part of the faux trend. River Island have a cream swing coat in the sale with a detachable faux fur collar for £50, so the fur is optional. The rest of the jacket is suede – faux of course.
